ALFREDO MACHADO, THE URUGUAYO AND EX-STUDENT OF HOFMANN WHO HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED AS THE "PASTRY REVELATION 2020" IN SPAIN

Alfredo Machado Díaz is 29 years old and was born in Maldonado, but for several years he lives in Spain, where he began and forged his career in the kitchen.

The Uruguayan Alfredo Machado Díaz was recognized as the 2020 Revelation Confectioner in Spain at the Madrid Fusion Awards, thanks to a reinvention he made of the classic Lemon Pie.

Machado Díaz is 29 years old, belongs to the group El Barri de Albert Adrià (Barcelona) and was recognized with this award for his talent, creativity and work in pastry and sweet cooking in Spain.

The Uruguayan has spoken of this award as "a reward for all the effort made during these years."

He started with only 15 years when he traveled to Barcelona, ​​since that is where his whole family is located by his father. He studied at the Hofmann School of Hospitality, cooking and pastry.

And when he finished he wanted to continue training as a professional in the passionate pastry shop, so he decided to practice with Josep María Rodríguez, world pastry champion. It was then that he started working for the El Barri group, led by Albert Adrià.

Gradually he went climbing until he became one of the creatives of the sweet part of all the restaurants next to David Gil.

He has also been collaborating recently in major openings worldwide such as Cakes and Bubbles in London or Little Spain in New York.

The baker recognizes that the road has not been easy, but he was always clear about his goal.
