Silvia Hofmann today has presented the Mey Hofmann Foundation, a project born with the aim of helping women cope with breast cancer with a transformative attitude to overcome it. A project that is also a tribute to his mother, Mey Hofmann.
The Mey Hofmann Foundation is an initiative that arises to perpetuate the legacy of Chef and entrepreneur Mey Hofmann whose attitude and inspiring example will, from now on, be at the service of all breast cancer diseases; a disease he suffered. It is the strength and enusion for life that always accompanied Mey that underpins this initiative and who, relying on psycho-oncology, wants to help women with breast cancer improve their quality of life during the disease, and survivors to face a new stage after going through a trance of this magnitude.
The Mey Hofmann Foundation, which will work in collaboration with the ICO (Institut Catalan d'Oncologia) and IDIBELL (Institut d'Investigació Biomédica de l'Hospital de Bellvitge) will host in the spaces of the Hofmann Gastronomy School different talks and workshops to promote self-esteem from therapeutic practices and support groups. To provide patients and their families with knowledge and methods to deal with physical and emotional discomfort, emotional intelligence workshops, relaxation techniques, conferences around emotional well-being and the ability to overcoming, and on the benefits of sports practices, yoga, meditation or acupuncture, among others.
The Board of Trustees of the Foundation consists of references of gastronomy, communication, art, culture and science that provide experience and knowledge for the supervision of the fulfillment of the foundational purposes of the Foundation.
