THE LANGUAGE OF WINE AT THE TABLE

Choose the best wine, be able to differentiate the varieties, find the best pairing for each type, identify the DO ... In this intensive introductory course to the world of wine, you will learn the basics of oenology through tastings accompanied by different dishes.

It is a 100% practical course that consists of 8 sessions of 2 and a half hours each. In a small group, there will be tastings selected by Hofmann specialists so that you learn to distinguish the different varieties of wines, their production process, the method of aging and conservation and finally, achieve the best pairings. All this accompanied by an initial theoretical basis to be able to make the most of the course.

 

WHO IS IT ADRESSED TO

It is an introductory course in which the most basic concepts of oenology will be reviewed. Aimed at passionate amateurs in the world of wine who want to give a professional touch to their hobby. Also for professionals without prior knowledge of oenology or viticulture.

The homogenization of our pedagogical system means that these courses can be carried out by both senior and amateur profiles. To study cooking at the Hofmann School of Hospitality, the only requirement is a strong desire to do so.

 

PROGRAMMING

Hours: Thursday from 7pm to 9:30 pm. One weekly session.

Duration: 2 months.

 

WHO TEACHES THE COURSE

Lluís Manel Barba has a degree in oenology and a technical engineer in agricultural and food industries, and has an intense career in all professional aspects of wine. He has been technical and export manager, and commercial agent for different distribution companies. He is currently a partner of the Entrevins company, dedicated to the selection and marketing of Spanish wines.

He is the author of several popularization books and responsible for the different updates of the Larousse of wines. He has been a sommelier teacher at the Escuela Superior de Restauración and currently teaches oenology at the Escuela de Hostelería Hofmann. Combine these courses for professionals with workshops for amateurs.

Split payment: € 400 for 2 payments *.

The first payment will be made at the time of reserving the place and the next payment at the beginning of the course.
